The solar initiative (started by Prof. Jayendran Veniateswaran, Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and Prof. Chetan Solanki, Department of Energy  Science & Engineering ) of Solar Urja through Localization for Sustainability (SoULS) has received the CSIR Award for S&T Innovations for Rural Development for 2019. This award consists of Rs 10 lakhs, citation and a plaque.
